About

My name is Riccardo Ruzzon, I’ve always been fascinated by nature’s beauty. I seek beauty in imperfection and value where others only see discard.

I decided to use wood coming from hazardous or dead trees. They are usualy gifted to me by arborists of my region. These trees would go to the landfill or would be chipped and burnt.

I personally mill and season them. Every piece I make is unique as I try to adapt to the forms and characteristics of each board. So I can create pieces which are more organic, stable through time and minimize any waste. I try to keep the design as minimal as possible to enhance the natural beauty of wood.

The finishes I use are usually hard wax oils: they enhance the colours and variety of wood allowing it to breath and adapt to temperature and humidity variations.

I prefer using handtools and traditional techniques. They have been proven reliable through the ages and got to us through generations of craftsmen.
